Summer Art Camp….. July, 2018…the dates are 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 & 26  New classes will be posted April by 15, 2018!  Students may sign up for a morning session OR an afternoon session OR for both morning and afternoon. If they sign up for both they should bring a brown bag lunch…the cost is $30 total for either a morning or afternoon session OR $50 if they sign up for both morning and afternoon!

 

Morning Classes:

> Pottery (hand building) – taught by Ashley McCahill – 10:00am to 11:30 am. Students will primarily work OFF the wheel and get personal one-to-one instruction on how to work with slabs, create textures, use the tools, etc… and how to decorate then finish the piece. For students 8 -18. SORRY THIS CLASS IS FULL!

> Beginning Children’s Ballet for Ages 5 – 7 - taught by Shellyn Leeper – 10:00am – 10:45am, This class is an introductory experience for beginners wanting to know about ballet. Wear ballet slippers or socks & comfortable clothes.

> Intermediate Ballet – for ages 8 – 11  taught by Shellyn Leeper – 10:45am – 11:30am. This class is for beginners who are just a bit older. Wear ballet slippers or socks & comfortable clothes.

>Trash to Treasure - taught by Mallory Gerstacker, for ages 8 and up, 10:00am – 11:30am.  Take your old things and recreate something new and amazing. Campers will work on a variety of projects that will take recycling to an artistic level! T-Shirt Surgery, wind chimes, sculptures and more all made from recyclable materials.  The following items would be super to begin collecting for the class…T-shirts, toilet paper / paper towel rolls, tin cans, plastic bottles & Styrofoam trays. SORRY, THIS CLASS IS FULL!

 Drawing from Observation – taught by  Bill Koch. Ages 8 – 12, 10:00am – 11:30am.  Learn to draw from nature as well as use your imagination to create fabulous compositions. SORRY, THIS CLASS IS FULL!

> Cartooning Boot Camp – taught by Doug Laubacher – Ages 8 and up.  10:00 am – 11:30am. Learn to create interesting and distinctive characters in different styles…if you are interested in manga, comic strips or superheroes this class is for you! Students are encouraged to bring sketchbooks and favorite drawing medium. Only 1 spot left!

> Pick Your Pastel – taught by Kathleen Riley – Ages 8 and up. 10:00 am – 11:30am.  Students will explore chalk and oil pastel to create artworks.  Photo references will be used for drawings of animals…and more! 

 

Afternoon Classes:

> Pottery (wheel throwing) – taught by Ashley McCleary – Noon to 1:30pm. Students will work primarily on the wheel and get personal one-to-one instruction on how to center the clay, bring up the walls, use the tools, etc… and how to decorate the finished piece. We can also hand build. This class is primarily for students 11 to 18. SORRY THIS CLASS IS FULL!

> Splish-Splash Watercolor Class – taught by  Bill Koch.  Ages 8 – 12, Noon – 1:30pm.  Learn to use watercolor paints to create beautiful compositions. Explore the beauty of this medium. SORRY, THIS CLASS IS FULL!

>Cartooning Boot Camp – taught by Doug Laubacher – Ages 8 and up.  Noon – 1:30pm. Learn to create interesting and distinctive characters in different styles…if you are interested in manga, comic strips or superheroes this class is for you! > Drama – taught by Elizabeth Holms – A workshop for young thespians ages 8 – 17, Noon – 1:30pm. Learn to put a play together from audition to performance! Class discussion includes: character development, costumes, sets, props and makeup. Only 1 spot left!

SPRING CLASSES 2018

 

> Drama-taught by Elizabeth Holmes, 5 Wednesdays  4:30 pm – 5:45 pm beginning February 7, 2018.  This workshop is for students who have a desire to act on the stage.  Character Development, audition preparation, monologues will just be some of the things covered in this class. Cost is $40

> Kids Clay – taught by Christine Rober – 5 Tuesdays 4:15pm – 5:30pm beginning February 6, 2018. Young artists ages 8 and up will learn the principles of hand building.
