Wednesdays from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm June 17, 2020. (6 sessions)
Taught by Dee Grossman. This class is for beginners who would like to work with clay to create pottery and hand built items. Students will be introduced to the wonders of clay beginning with hand built items and progressing to exposure on the wheel. Tools are provided but the cost of clay is an additional $25 for a 25lb. bag. Member cost $100 Non-Member cost $120. 3 spots available.

Taught by Terry Barnhill. One day workshops on a variety of subjects. The format of the sessions will be instruction followed by time for questions and answers.
April 18: Getting Started. For beginners who need to know the basics and what your camera can do. cost $20
April 25: Taking Control of Your Photography. Now that you know the basics, you will learn how to take control of your equipment and begin the creative process, lighting, exposure etc. Cost $20
May 9: Advanced Camera. You are comfortable with your camera but you just aren't where you'd like to be. Much will be covered to help you...depth of field, composition, camera settings for various lighting conditions and subject matter etc. Cost $20
May 16: Mastering Exposure and Light. Learn the use the correct shutter speed, aperture and ISO for the right exposure and how light factors into the results. Cost $20
June 13: Macro Photography. Take your Macro Photography to the next level. Camera, lens selection, lens attachments for close ups, using light, simpler reflectors and light blocks will be covered. Cost $20
June 27, 8:30 - Noon: Macro Photography Location Workshop. Field Trip with an Experienced Teacher! Logical followup to Macro Photography Session. Meet at TCCA then head to a location yet to be determined, such as Zoar Gardens. Cost $35
July 11: How to Photograph Action Sports & Other School Events. Learn how to take quality action shots of sporting events, theater productions etc.. Camera, lens selection use of existing light, ISO. correct exposure and strategies on finding your correct location at various venues will be covered. Cost $20
August 22: Advanced Camera: This is a repeat of the May 16th workshop. cost $20
September 12: How to be More Competitive in Photo Contests: What do judges look for? How can you improve your chances to win? This session will walk you through the process. Cost $20
September 26: Creative Landscape: This session is not for beginners. For photographers who are comfortable with their equipment but are not quite satisfied and need to tweak their work. Long Exposure, Night Photography, Composition, Different Strategies, DOF and more will be covered. Cost $20
October 10, 8:30 - Noon: Creative Landscape Location Workshop: A logical follow up the the Creative Landscape Session. Put your skills to use with and experienced instructor Meet at TCCA then move to a location, such as Dundee Falls, for real experience. Cost $35
October 31: Basic Editing with Creative Cloud (Lightroom & Photoshop): Learn the basics of editing. For beginners who wonder if it is worth renting Adobe Creative Photoshop Please bring 2 or 4 or your own images that can be used as examples. Cost $20
ADVANCED POTTERY MONTHLY OPEN STUDIO
TCCA Board approved requirements: Must be a member of TCCA.
Monthly Open Studio Pottery Students who want to use the TCCA facility without class instruction can now do so during TCCA hours and during scheduled classes with permission of the instructor. Must have taken at least (3) prior TCCA pottery classes. Must purchase Clay from TCCA and work without instruction. Pottery will be fired for you by instructors along with other student work. Please note…The purpose of open studio is to provide TCCA Members with a studio space to create pottery for personal pleasure and artistic enrichment or to enhance skills and ability. Open Studio is not intended to expense business costs of production for retail sale or to support a personal business venture. Cost – $50 / month (for members only)

Taught Debbie Tucker. For students who already have a basic understanding of pottery and glazes who want to learn about mixing unique glazes. The classes will focus on glaze chemistry, proper tools, and the mixing of chemicals to produce a functioning glaze. Member cost $65 -Non-Members $75. Materials will be provided.

PIT FIRE WORKSHOP

Taught by Kim Hohlmayer. Learn a process in glaze firing that is similar to RAKU yet surprisingly different! Lots of coppery highlights. Make a variety of projects to fire. Member cost – $55 – Non Member cost – $65
