Wheel throwing pottery classes available beginning Saturday, February 14, 2026 for four weeks from 9:30 am to noon.

Terry Barnhill, a master photographer with more than forty years’ experience and who was a certified judge for the Professional Photographers of America, will facilitate  workshops for adults and teens at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts.

Camera Equipment

ADVANCED POTTERY MONTHLY OPEN STUDIO

TCCA Board approved requirements: Must be a member of TCCA.

Monthly Open Studio  Pottery Students who want to use the TCCA facility without class instruction can now do so during TCCA hours and during scheduled classes with permission of the instructor. Must have taken at least (3) prior TCCA pottery classes. Must purchase Clay from TCCA and work without instruction. Pottery will be fired for you by instructors along with other student work.  Please note…The purpose of open studio is to provide TCCA Members with a studio space to create pottery for personal pleasure and artistic enrichment or to enhance skills and ability.  Open Studio is not intended to expense business costs of  production for retail sale or to support a personal business venture. Cost – $50 / month (for members only)

Clay Design

GLAZE-MAKING 101

Six Mondays, 6:30pm – 8:30pm TBA.

Taught Debbie Tucker. For students who already have a basic understanding of pottery and glazes who want to learn about mixing unique glazes. The classes will focus on glaze chemistry, proper tools, and the mixing of chemicals to produce a functioning glaze. Member cost $65 -Non-Members $75.  Materials will be provided.

WATERCOLOR, ACRYLIC OR OIL PAINTING

Ongoing, Saturdays
9:00am – 11:00am.

Taught by Bill Koch. Individual instruction with ALL levels of experience. Member Cost – $8 per session. Non-Member Cost – $10 / session. 

Additional class on Thursday Mornings - 9 - 11 

PIT FIRE WORKSHOP

Ages 10 to Adult.  TBA.

Taught by Kim Hohlmayer. Learn a process in glaze firing that is similar to RAKU yet surprisingly different! Lots of coppery highlights.  Make a variety of projects to fire.  Member cost – $55 – Non Member cost – $65

PAINTING GROUP

Ongoing, Tuesdays
10:00am – 2:00pm.

 Do you enjoy painting in the company of others? Join the fun and create your works of art. Bring a little something for a pot luck lunch.
